Digital SAT Math

Prepare by understanding the format, strengthening core concepts, and reviewing the reasoning behind your answers. Use this guide to plan your practice across all four domains.

The format at a glance

44 questions

Two modules of 22 questions, with multiple-choice and numerical-response items.

70 minutes

Standard timing: two separately timed modules of 35 minutes each.

The official Digital SAT is delivered in Bluebook. Performance in the first module determines the difficulty of the second module. All four math domains appear in both modules.

Calculators are allowed throughout Math. Bluebook includes Desmos scientific and graphing options; approved handheld calculators may also be used. Check the current College Board calculator policy before test day.

Build your skills across the four domains

Algebra

Linear equations, systems, inequalities, and linear functions. About 35% of SAT Math.

Advanced Math

Quadratics, nonlinear equations, polynomials, exponentials, and functions. About 35% of SAT Math.

Problem Solving & Data Analysis

Ratios, percentages, probability, statistics, and data interpretation. About 15% of SAT Math.

Geometry & Trigonometry

Try an original question

A rectangular garden has an area of 84 square meters. Its length is 5 meters greater than its width. What is the width, in meters?

A. 6   B. 7   C. 12   D. 14

Show answer and detailed solution

Correct answer: B. 7 meters.

  • Let w represent the width; the length is w + 5.
  • Use area = width × length: w(w + 5) = 84.
  • Rearrange: w² + 5w − 84 = 0.
  • Factor: (w + 12)(w − 7) = 0, so w = −12 or w = 7.
  • Reject −12 because a length must be positive.
  • Check: width 7 and length 12 give area 84 and a difference of 5.

The question asks for the width, not the length. Checking the context prevents choosing 12 by mistake.

Study with a repeatable routine

  • Start with a timed test to identify the skills that need attention.
  • Review wrong and guessed answers, and explain why each step works.
  • Practice your weak areas in short, focused sessions.
  • Keep a written error log; progress review is a study habit, not automatic tracking on this website.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use a calculator?

Yes, throughout the Math section. Practice with Bluebook’s embedded Desmos calculator or an approved handheld model. Consult the official policy for current restrictions.

What materials does MathTestHub offer?

Test 1 is a 20-page PDF with 44 questions, two modules, an answer key, and detailed solutions. Free original questions and online study guidance are also available.

Are solutions included?

Test 1 includes a worked solution for every question, with domain and skill labels. Free question solutions expand directly on the Free Resources page.

Are the PDF tests adaptive?

No. Our PDFs are fixed-format practice tests. They do not reproduce the adaptive behavior of the official Digital SAT and do not generate an official SAT score. Use Bluebook for official adaptive practice.
